Enrolments for 2024 open on Monday 12 June 2023

Online enrolment forms will be available on this page (and paper copies available at the school office) on Monday 12 June 2023.  Information about our enrolment process and school zone are below.

Open days will be held for our contributing schools in August. Further information regarding the open days will be posted here in when enrolments open.

In Zone Students

All students who live in our home zone shall be eligible to enrol at Naenae Intermediate.

Please complete an online enrolment or collect a paper enrolment form from the school office when enrolments open on Monday 12 June 2023.

Out of Zone Students Enrolment Scheme

If you do not live within the home zone specified in the school’s enrolment scheme you are still welcome to submit an out-of-zone enrolment application.  Please complete the online enrolment form, or pick up an enrolment form from our office when enrolments open on Monday 12 June 2023.

Your application will be subject to the selection procedure specified in the Education and Training Act 2020. 

The Act states that first priority must be given to students who meet the criteria for enrolment in an approved special programme run by the school.  Our school has no such programme.  

• Second priority must be given to siblings of current students.  

• Third priority must be given to siblings of former students.  

• Fourth priority must be given to children of former students.  

• Fifth priority must be given to children of board employees or board members.  

• Sixth priority must be given to all other students.

Applications for out-of-zone enrolments will close on Friday 20 October 2023.

In situations where the number of applicants exceeds the number of places available for out-of-zone students, selection will be by ballot.  If a ballot is required at our school, it will be held on Tuesday 24 October 2023 and will be supervised by a sworn member of the Police.

The school will notify you regarding the outcome of the ballot on Friday 27 October 2023.  If your application has been successful, you will be asked to confirm your acceptance or rejection of the offered place within 14 days (Friday 10 November 2023).  If you do not respond within the 14 day period, the place will be offered to the first person on the waiting list established by the ballot.
